India, May 4 -- Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi on Monday conducted an inspection of Ward No. 29 in Pooth Khurd, focusing on sanitation challenges and pending civic works. The visit forms part of an ongoing series of field inspections aimed at strengthening basic infrastructure and public service delivery in rural pockets of the Capital. During the inspection, the Mayor interacted with residents of Prahladpur village, listening to their grievances related to poor sanitation, clogged drains, and incomplete street construction. Assuring prompt action, Wahi directed officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Public Works Department to work in close coordination, particularly on interconnecting drainage systems to prevent water logging and unhygienic conditions. Accompanied by local councillor Anju Devi and senior civic officials, the Mayor emphasised that all complaints must be addressed within a stipulated timeframe. He warned that delays in ongoing construction projects would invite strict action, including the blacklisting of contractors if necessary. Officials present at the site assured completion of pending works within a week. Wahi also inspected an MCD school in Barwala village and instructed authorities to repair the damaged boundary wall at the earliest.
