New Delhi, Sept. 5 -- Former Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Saturday visited the Missionaries of Charity and paid tribute to Mother Teresa on her death anniversary. Banerjee also met the Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity, Sr Mary Joseph MC.
"On the solemn occasion of Mother Teresa's death anniversary, I visited the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata. Mother Teresa devoted her life to serving the most vulnerable, touching innumerable lives with compassion, restoring dignity and reminding the world of the power of selfless service," she wrote on X.
Banerjee described her experience of visiting the Missionaries of Charity as deeply moving, filled with warmth, compassion and reflection. Mother Teresa's enduring message of love, compassion and service to humanity remains deeply powerful, Banerjee said.
"We shared a vision for an equal and peaceful India - built on love, mutual respect, dignity and compassion," she added.
