Kolkata, May 12 -- TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday conducted a meeting with the social media members of the party, with senior party leaders describing the interaction as an effort to energise party workers and strengthen digital outreach in the aftermath of the Assembly elections.
The meeting was also attended by TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who joined the party chief in interacting with what the party termed its dedicated "social media warriors".
Following the meeting, Debangshu Bhattacharya said the interaction with the top leadership had significantly boosted the confidence of party workers. "Supremo has boosted our morale. Though we have not lost the election. The conspiracy happened against us," Bhattacharya told reporters.
Questioning the conduct of the recently concluded election, Bhattacharya, who was also in the electoral fray, alleged that the polling process lacked transparency. "I was also a candidate; I myself have seen that the process was not conducted with transparency," he said.
The TMC leader reiterated that despite the electoral outcome, the party does not consider itself politically defeated and alleged that irregularities influenced the result.
