Kolkata, Sept. 11 -- International air connectivity from Kolkata is set for a boost from October, with IndiGo preparing to restore flights to Shanghai, Singapore and Siem Reap in Cambodia.
The Shanghai-Kolkata route will operate daily, while Singapore flights will run six days a week, excluding Tuesday. The Siem Reap service will operate thrice weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The routes were suspended in March amid disruptions linked to the Iran crisis, which affected airline operations and passenger demand across West Asia. Their restoration comes ahead of the festive season, when travel demand typically rises.
IndiGo is also expanding international connectivity from eastern India, with new services from Bhubaneswar and Guwahati to Bangkok.
The Bhubaneswar-Bangkok service will begin on October 1, followed by Guwahati-Bangkok flights later in the month.
