India, Aug. 1 -- Kolkata Police has carried out another administrative reshuffle, transferring 18 inspectors serving at different police stations and units across the city. According to an order issued by Ajay Nand, Commissioner of Kolkata Police, Soumitra Basu has been reinstated as Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhowanipur Police Station in south Kolkata. According to reports, although he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner (AC) on Friday, the city police headquarters at Lalbazar has directed him to continue overseeing the Bhowanipur police station while holding the new rank. Reportedly, among other changes, Dilip Sarkar, OC of Garden Reach Police Station, has been transferred to Kolkata Traffic Police, while Akhilesh Jha, OC of Metiabruz Police Station, has been moved to the Intelligence Branch (IB). Kaushik Sarkar, who had been serving in the Special Branch (SB), has also been posted to the Intelligence Branch.
