New Delhi, July 6 -- The 35th Mango Festival, organised by Delhi Tourism, concluded in the national Capital on Monday with a prize distribution ceremony after drawing thousands of visitors over the three-day event, celebrating India's favourite summer fruit through exhibitions, competitions and farmer participation. The festival showcased nearly 400 varieties of mangoes from across the country, giving visitors an opportunity to explore rare and popular cultivars. Besides fresh mangoes, stalls also offered mango saplings and a wide range of value-added products, including pickles, jams, jellies, mango panna and mango papad, attracting enthusiastic buyers.

One of the biggest crowd-pullers was the Mango Eating Competition, where participants had to consume up to three kilograms of mango pulp within three minutes. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from both men and women. In the women's category, 20 contestants took part in the competition. Kavita Chaudhary emerged as the winner after consuming 1.310 kg of mango pulp within the stipulated time. Beena secured the second position by eating 1.300 kg, while the third prize went to a participant who consumed 1.139 kg of mango pulp. The winners were felicitated during the closing ceremony. According to Delhi Tourism, the festival aims to provide a common platform for mango growers from across the country to showcase their produce while promoting scientific cultivation practices and encouraging new orchard owners to adopt modern farming techniques.
