New Delhi, April 15 -- 'Amazon MX Player' continues to captivate audiences with its gritty cop drama, 'Kaptaan'. Set in the volatile world of Jwalabad, the series is driven by power struggles, shifting loyalties and characters who operate in morally complicated spaces. And one such standout character is Kavita Kaushik's DSP Preet. For audiences, Kavita in a cop's uniform isn't new. It's rather iconic. It's a space she owned and redefined on the small screen. But with 'Kaptaan', she returns to that familiar uniform after years, only to completely flip it on its head.
Talking about what drew her to her character, Kavita shared, "When I was approached for 'Kaptaan', what truly drew me in was the negative shade of my character. I've portrayed strong characters before, but this one required me to explore darker, funnier and more layered shades. It was challenging to balance intensity with subtlety and to understand the character's motivations without making them one-dimensional. As an actor, that process pushed me out of my comfort zone."
Reflecting on the pace and energy of the shoot, she added, "One word that truly captures the spirit of working on 'Kaptaan' for me is speed. The pace of the shoot was phenomenal. I don't think I've ever filmed my scenes faster on any project before. What's remarkable is that this rush never felt chaotic. There were clarity and preparedness behind every day on set that kept things running efficiently. The energy was simply infectious. It pushed the entire cast and crew to stay instinctive and completely present in every moment."
