Kolkata, Sept. 18 -- Senior DMK leader and Lok Sabha MP Kanimozhi reportedly met former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee at her Kalighat residence in Kolkata on Thursday, with the discussions reportedly covering several issues.
The meeting came days after Kanimozhi held talks with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai and NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar in Delhi. Her outreach has drawn attention amid strains between the DMK and Congress and differences among regional constituents of the INDIA bloc.
The TMC and Congress, national allies, have recently sparred over the October 6 Nandigram bypoll.
The DMK-Congress relationship has also deteriorated following Tamil Nadu's assembly elections.
Kanimozhi's meetings have prompted speculation about wider Opposition coordination, though there is no official indication of any plan for a new political grouping.
