New Delhi, July 30 -- The Delhi Police have arrested three people in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old boy in the Jyoti Nagar area, officials said.

The accused have been identified as Arman, 20, a resident of New Kardampuri; Alfaiz, 19, of Kardampuri; and Aman Khan, 23, also of Kardampuri.

Police said the victim, who lived in the Kardampuri area, was declared brought dead at GTB Hospital on the night of July 28. Police were alerted by the hospital through a PCR call at around 11pm and subsequently began an investigation.

The preliminary probe revealed that the boy had allegedly been stabbed by the three accused in Gali No. 4 of Kardampuri. A forensic team was constituted to examine the crime scene and collect evidence.

Police said CCTV footage from the area and information gathered through local sources helped investigators identify the suspects. Arman and Alfaiz were subsequently arrested by the Crime Branch, while Aman Khan, who had initially remained at large, was arrested by the Jyoti Nagar police.

During questioning, Arman and Alfaiz allegedly admitted their involvement and told police that they had an old rivalry with the victim. At Arman's instance, police recovered the knife allegedly used in the crime, along with bloodstained clothes he was reportedly wearing at the time.

An FIR has been registered at Jyoti Nagar police station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police said none of the three accused has any previous criminal record. Further investigation is underway.
