Kolkata, Oct. 30 -- The Jadavpur University (JU) has constituted an internal inquiry committee to investigate the alleged unauthorised disclosure and circulation on social media of a confidential communication issued by Vice-Chancellor Chiranjib Bhattacharya to the acting registrar on October 12.
The decision followed a representation submitted by acting registrar Debajit Dutta on October 27, concerning the alleged disclosure of the communication, which directed the withdrawal of an earlier circular on the temporary appointment of employees until further orders.
In a circular, the vice-chancellor said the internal inquiry committee would conduct a thorough, impartial and objective examination of the matter and establish the facts and circumstances surrounding the alleged disclosure. All concerned have been asked to cooperate with the inquiry.
Earlier, the JU unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) had also sought an impartial investigation into the alleged unauthorised disclosure of the confidential communication. The organisation alleged that a teacher leader affiliated with the CPM had forcibly photographed the document and circulated it on social media before its official release.
