New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) organised a mass delegation to the Vice-Chancellor at the university's Administrative Block, pressing for immediate action on a charter of student demands concerning academic, administrative and campus-related issues.

The students demanded the rollback of the CPO Manual and revocation of the rustication of JNUSU office-bearers, along with the reinstatement of the Gender Sensitisation Committee Against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH) and the JNU Entrance Examination (JNUEE).

The union also raised concerns over essential facilities, seeking mess and Wi-Fi services at Barak Hostel and improvements to hostel infrastructure, library seating, lifts, roads, Teflas and the stadium. It demanded an audit of mess bills, an increase in the Merit-cum-Means (MCM) scholarship and inclusion of School of Engineering students under the scheme.

JNUSU further called for reforms to the Equal Opportunity Cell in accordance with the Rohith Act and an annual audit of its functioning. It also sought the removal of the Siddhanta Knowledge Foundation, restoration of the JNUSU Fund and student representation in academic councils.

Among other demands, the union sought hostel accommodation for students until PhD thesis submission, proper implementation of reservation in hostel allotments and an inquiry into alleged recruitment irregularities involving IQAC and Kumaraswamy. It also demanded fee parity for SoE, MBA, Mahanadi and Married Hostels with standard JNU norms.

Separately, JNUSU met the Dean of Students over a circular asking students to clear mess dues by September 30. The union opposed the alleged "defaulter list" and demanded that such notices be withdrawn, asserting that delayed MCM and fellowship payments had contributed to students' financial difficulties.
