Ranchi, Aug. 17 -- The Jharkhand Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday conducted raids at the office of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) in Ranchi as part of its investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. CID Additional Director General Manoj Kaushik confirmed that the searches were being carried out in connection with alleged irregularities in multiple examinations conducted by the commission.
The action comes as job aspirants have continued their protest in Ranchi, with the agitation entering its 24th day. The protesters have been demanding action over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the JSSC and Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). The state probe agency has so far arrested 20 people in connection with the alleged examination irregularities. Among those arrested is former JPSC chairman L Khiangte. The CID has also been examining evidence gathered during the investigation, including OMR carbon copies, and matching them as part of the probe. The investigation has been underway amid growing pressure from students and job aspirants, who have sought greater transparency in the recruitment process and action against those allegedly responsible for irregularities. The latest raids are part of the wider probe into the examination-related allegations, with the CID stating that further action will be taken in accordance with the evidence collected during the investigation.
