Patna, Oct. 2 -- The JD(U) has tasked senior leader and Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh with resolving the differences between party legislators Anant Kumar and Neeraj Kumar at the earliest, its national working president Sanjay Jha said on Friday.

Anant Kumar Singh virtually revolted against his party on Thursday when he accompanied Jan Suraaj Party's candidate Anuj Singh for filing of nomination papers for Patna Graduates' seat in Bihar legislative council elections. JD(U)'s Neeraj Kumar is seeking re-election from the seat.

The Mokama MLA, who has made no secret of his intent to ensure Neeraj Kumar's defeat in the October 23 polls, also took out a procession in support of the Jan Suraaj Party candidate.

Explaining the rationale behind deputing Lalan Singh to resolve the differences, Jha said Mokama comes under the Munger Lok Sabha constituency that is represented by the Union minister.

Talking to reporters here, Jha said, "The responsibility of resolving the differences between the two leaders has been entrusted to Lalan Singh. The party is aware of whatever is happening between Anant Singh and Neeraj Kumar. Since the matter concerns Lalan Singh's Munger Lok Sabha constituency, he has been tasked with resolving the differences."

Anant Singh, however, has remained defiant. "I do not know what the party line is in this matter. The fact remains that he (Neeraj) has opposed me on so many occasions. I must pay him back in the same coin."
