New Delhi, July 30 -- Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), a Navaratna PSU of Indian Railways, has shown its best-ever quarterly performance by securing record revenue, profit, and net worth in the first quarter of FY 2026-27 despite maintaining its unique status of having no non-performing asset at all.

As per the unaudited standalone financial results of the company for the quarter ending on June 30, the total income of IRFC has come to Rs 8,391.34 crore as against Rs 6,918.24 crore for the same period of the last financial year.

The profit after tax (PAT) has increased to Rs 1,927.21 crore in the first quarter of FY 2026-27 from Rs 1,745.69 crore for the same period last year, thereby increasing the PAT by 10.4 per cent year-on-year.

This outstanding performance reflects the growing importance of the company not only as the railway financier but also as a player in the field of mobility and allied sectors. The net worth of the corporation has also reached an all-time high of Rs 58,791.95 crore as on June 30 of this year as against Rs 56,748.76 crore as on March 31.

The net interest margin (NIM) recorded by the corporate entity was 1.48 per cent on an annualised basis for the period, which is a result of the benefits accrued through the diversification policy and effective liability management of the corporation. The total amount of assets under management (AUM) of the corporation was Rs 4.79 lakh crore at the end of the period compared to the Rs 4.85 lakh crore recorded at the end of the last fiscal year.

IRFC maintained its record of having zero non-performing assets, which was attributed to the nature of its asset management and risk management process despite expanding its lending activities outside railway funding.

On the performance, Chairman and MD of IRFC, Manoj Kumar Dubey, said that the results were an indication of the robustness of the diversification efforts of the company, which is being undertaken under the IRFC 2.0 plan. He added that the company will continue to grow its presence in the various sectors and industries associated with the railways' ecosystem but will follow a cautious approach towards lending along with preserving the quality of its portfolio of assets.

It is expected that the strategy of diversification adopted by the corporation will help the company be profitable and generate returns during the ongoing fiscal year, owing to a rising pipeline of projects in the sectors of mobility and

allied sectors.
