Kolkata, Sept. 2 -- Kolkata's football fever is already soaring ahead of the India-Brazil friendly on October 3, with lower-priced tickets for the much-anticipated clash selling out within an hour of going online on Wednesday. The match will be played at the 67,000-capacity Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, with around 70 per cent of seats expected to be released.
Tickets, priced between Rs 999 and Rs 15,000, were sold exclusively online through District, with no counter sales. The AIFF will issue only digital passes.
Brazil will be part of a high-profile friendly series for India, which will also face Panama in Bengaluru on September 26 and Uruguay in Kolkata on October 6. Coach Khalid Jamil has named a 26-member squad, with the national camp beginning in Bengaluru on September 14. The team will arrive in Kolkata on September 28. Jamil has described the chance to host Brazil and Uruguay as a dream, saying the matches could be a turning point for Indian football and provide vital preparation for next year's Asian Cup qualifiers.
