New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- How can research emerging from laboratories be translated into technologies that can be built and scaled in India? This question formed the central theme of the second edition of FITT Forward, a two-day summit organised by the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi.
The summit, brought together researchers, technology companies, investors and entrepreneurs to discuss India's prospects in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, space technology, biotechnology and agriculture.
The opening day at the IIT Delhi campus began with a discussion on whether India could develop artificial intelligence systems for its large domestic market while also building globally competitive companies. The panel included IIT Delhi computer science professor Mausam, MeitY official Kavita Bhatia and Sandeep Aurora of Microsoft India and South Asia.
A separate session examined the challenges of developing advanced manufacturing and semiconductor capabilities, while another focused on the use of technology in agriculture.
The summit explored commercialising publicly funded research, with startups demonstrating innovations to investors. Discussions covered space, healthcare, biotechnology and sports technology, while FITT highlighted its incubation and funding record before concluding with Innovation Awards.
