Srinagar, Sept. 8 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday watched Mirzapur: The Movie at INOX Multiplex, Shivpora, Srinagar, as part of the ongoing International Film Festival Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK), being held under the theme 'Rang-e-Cinema'.
The screening gave Abdullah an opportunity to experience the festival alongside film enthusiasts and audiences.
The four-day IFFJK at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre has brought together filmmakers, artists and cinema enthusiasts from India and abroad. During his visit, the CM interacted with the film's lead actors, including Pankaj Tripathi and Divyenndu.
Abdullah felicitated the actors and welcomed them to Jammu and Kashmir, appreciating their contribution to Indian cinema.
He said the participation of prominent artistes and filmmakers would strengthen Jammu and Kashmir's association with cinema and help build a vibrant film ecosystem in the region. The maiden festival is witnessing participation from more than 30 countries, with over 130 films being screened at various venues.
Former CM Farooq Abdullah and senior officials, including Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, were also present.
