Gurugram, Sept. 16 -- Gurugram hit-and-run accused Kalyan Bainsla and his cousin Lovneesh were sent to two days' police remand by a city court on Wednesday, an official said. The police sought custody to recreate the crime scene. The next hearing has been scheduled for September 18.
Gurugram Police Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj also formed a special investigation team (SIT), headed by ACP (Crime Against Women) Sushila Devi, to probe the case.
Bainsla, a gym owner, allegedly hit biker Shivani Chauhan, alias Siya, with his car on Golf Course Road on Sunday, knocking her off the motorcycle and leaving her injured. Police later booked him under an attempt-to-murder charge after examining Instagram videos and CCTV footage.
Bainsla and Lovneesh were arrested from Rajgarh in Rajasthan on Tuesday. Police said Bainsla had earlier switched off his phone and absconded after speaking to the media.
Chauhan joined the investigation after the arrest and alleged that an attempt was made on her life. Based on her complaint, police added charges under Sections 109, 78 and 79 of the BNS to the FIR.
