New Delhi, April 15 -- Over 120 students from five schools participated in Heritage Week activities organised by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) at Mehrauli Archaeological Park on April 15, 2026. The initiative aimed to promote awareness of heritage, history, and conservation through interactive, student-centric programmes.

Competitions including dialogue, story writing, and sketching and drawing provided students with an outdoor learning experience, encouraging them to engage directly with Delhi's cultural legacy. The DDA said such activities help deepen understanding beyond classroom learning by fostering creativity and critical thinking.

The same set of competitions will continue on April 16 to enable wider participation. The week-long celebrations, running from April 13 to 18, also feature heritage walks, exhibitions, and an online photography contest in collaboration with MyGov.

A public heritage walk is scheduled for April 17, while the programme will conclude on April 18 World Heritage Day with a prize distribution ceremony, exhibition of entries, and a cultural evening featuring a Qawwali performance.
