Kolkata, Sept. 10 -- The Calcutta High Court on Thursday came down heavily on the CID over its failure to trace Prashanta Burman, the former Rajgunj BDO accused in a gold trader murder case, despite an arrest warrant being pending against him.
The court directed the state to submit a report within three weeks.
The court questioned how a government employee drawing a monthly salary could remain "untraceable", while the state told the court that efforts were being made to locate him. The court questioned the credibility of the state's claim that Barman could not be found.
