New Delhi, Sept. 5 -- West Bengal Governor R N Ravi on Saturday paid tribute to teachers and former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on Teachers' Day.
In a post, Ravi said teachers "illuminate minds, mould character and guide generations", while recalling Radhakrishnan as a distinguished teacher, philosopher and statesman. He said India's Guru-Shishya Parampara had traditionally placed teachers at the centre of imparting knowledge, wisdom and values. Ravi said educators today continue this legacy by fostering curiosity, critical thinking, talent and excellence among students. He added that teachers equip young people to face emerging challenges, contribute to Bharat's resurgence and help realise its destiny as "Vishwa Guru".
