Gurugram, Sept. 10 -- A 40-year-old man was shot dead after three unknown assailants allegedly chased him down on busy Basai Road in Sector 9 on Thursday morning.
The police were alerted about the incident through a PCR call received at the Police Station Sector 9A.
According to the police, the accused chased down Mahender on his motorcycle between 9.30 am and 10 am on Thursday, police said. They further added that one of the unidentified men pulled out a gun and opened fire at him.
Mahender reportedly tried to flee the scene after being shot but eventually fainted a few metres away from the men. The accused then allegedly escaped the crime scene on a motorcycle.
Locals informed the police after they spotted the victim on the road. Police reached the spot and rushed him to the Civil Hospital in Sector 10A, where he was declared dead.
Gurugram Police has stated that preliminary police custody suggests that Mahender had a personal vendetta with two of the accused. Further adding that police suspect the murder was a result of revenge. Turan also mentioned that police have identified two of the accused and that several police teams are currently deployed to track the remaining ones down and bring them to justice.
