New Delhi, Oct. 12 -- Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday inaugurated a government school in Dwarka, a hostel for 120 women students at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) East Campus and high-tech training centres at three industrial training institutes (ITIs), as part of the Seva Sankalp Campaign.

The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for the G B Pant Integrated College and Polytechnic in Okhla, an Advanced Manufacturing Lab and a Faculty Office Building at NSUT's main campus, with the government focusing on technical education, skill development and employment.

The newly inaugurated co-educational senior secondary school in Sector 16B, Dwarka, has a capacity of 2,000 students from Classes 6 to 12.

Spread across 8,000 square metres, the campus has 75 rooms, including smart classrooms, science laboratories, an ICT lab, a library and facilities for sports and music.

The hostel at NSUT's East Campus will accommodate 120 women students, particularly benefiting those travelling from distant areas to pursue higher education.

The three Centres of Excellence at ITI Jahangirpuri, ITI Dhirpur and ITI Narela will provide practical training in emerging technologies, including robotics, industrial automation, digital manufacturing, CNC machining, solar technology and energy efficiency. The Jahangirpuri centre is expected to benefit around 1,000 trainees annually, while the Dhirpur facility is expected to cater to 1,200 trainees.

In Okhla, the proposed G B Pant Integrated College and Polytechnic aims to bring engineering, vocational education, skill development and research facilities under one campus. Its student capacity is planned to increase from around 2,880 to 7,000.

The Advanced Manufacturing Lab at NSUT is expected to provide industry-oriented training to around 2,000 students.

Separately, Gupta held an interactive session with women student representatives from colleges across Delhi, who raised concerns and offered suggestions on campus safety, facilities and

education quality.

The Chief Minister said their recommendations would be considered in the upcoming Youth Policy, pre-budget consultations and regular dialogues with students.

Education Minister Ashish Sood said the government's focus was to move beyond school infrastructure and connect quality learning and technical training with employment opportunities.
