India, Aug. 13 -- The Delhi government is set to introduce an electronic Cabinet management system, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announcing in the Assembly that a proposal for implementing the e-Cabinet platform has been prepared and will be rolled out in the coming months. Addressing the House on Tuesday, Gupta highlighted the initiative as part of the government's push towards technology-driven governance and administrative reforms. The proposed platform has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for use by state governments and is designed to securely manage Cabinet business in a fully digital environment. The system is expected to reduce reliance on printed files by enabling ministers to receive, review and approve Cabinet notes electronically. The platform can also support virtual Cabinet meetings and will be compatible with the Delhi government's existing e-Office system, allowing seamless movement of files and official documents across departments. Officials said the portal is currently available in Hindi and English and has been optimised for use on smart tablets, enabling ministers to access meeting agendas, notes and related documents digitally. Another key feature of the platform is its integrated knowledge repository, which stores Cabinet records and institutional data in a searchable format. This will allow authorised users to quickly retrieve previous decisions, policy documents and reference material, improving administrative continuity and reducing the time required to access archived information. The proposed e-Cabinet system forms part of the Delhi government's broader efforts to modernise governance through digital platforms while improving efficiency, security and transparency in official decision-making.
