India, July 22 -- The Centre has made the ex-Agniveers eligible by allocating a separate category in recruitment to the post of Constable (General Duty) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Rifleman in Assam Rifles with reservation and recruitment relaxations for facilitating their induction into the Central Armed Police Forces. As per the directions issued, 50 per cent of vacancies in the CAPFs and Assam Rifles will be reserved for the recruitment of the ex-Agniveers. Moreover, the upper age limit is relaxed by three years for lateral entry candidates and five years for the first batch recruits above the prescribed upper age limit for recruitment as the candidates of the first batch will be only the ex-Agniveers who have already served for a period of four years. The ex-Agniveers seeking recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles have been exempted from the PST, PET, and written examination as a special recruitment concession making it easier for them to join the CAPFs and Assam Rifles.
