India, May 11 -- AAP MLA Gopal Rai on Saturday said "water service centres" have been set up in Babarpur constituency to provide relief to people working outdoors amid rising temperatures. The centres will provide round-the-clock access to drinking water stored in earthen pots for labourers, auto-rickshaw and e-rickshaw drivers, homeless persons, pedestrians, delivery workers, street vendors, security guards and sanitation workers, Rai said. In a post on X, AAP leader Gopal Rai said the initiative was launched amid severe heat conditions linked to the "Super El Nino" effect. Caps, gamchhas, ORS packets and plants were also distributed during the campaign. He said supporting vulnerable people during extreme weather was a collective responsibility.
