
New Delhi, Oct. 2 -- The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) paid homage to four of its personnel who lost their lives in an incident of fratricides at the Sewa-III Hydro Electric Project in Mashka, Basohli, Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on September 29.
The last rites of the four personnel were performed at their respective native places on Thursday with full honours and as per laid down procedures.
Among the deceased was Assistant Commandant Ankit Kumar Pandey of the CISF Unit NTPC Tanda who joined the force on October 3, 2015. His last rites were performed at his ancestral place, Mathiya Daulatpur in Ambedkarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Senior CISF officials including DIG Manish Kumar Singh and the Deputy Commandant of the NTPC Tnda unit paid tribute to the departed soul on behalf of the force.
Sub-Inspector Laxman Singh, who joined CISF in August 2013, was cremated at Village Loona in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, with CISF Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat Chandigarh unit personnel present during the last rites. The CISF unit of Salal Hydro Electric Project also attended the last rites of Constable Sanjeev Kumar, who joined the CISF in October 2013.
The CISF extended its deep and heartfelt condolences to the families, colleagues and friends of the four security personnel and said that all possible assistance and support would be provided to the families of the deceased in accordance with the existing provisions and rules.
