
Kolkata, May 17 -- Within just two days of an FIR registered against TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, another FIR was registered on Sunday at Mograhat police station against him based on a complaint lodged by the former TMC MLA Giasuddin Molla.
According to sources, Giasuddin on Sunday has reportedly filed a complaint against Abhishek and a WBPS officer who was earlier posted in the South 24-Parganas. It was learnt that the WBPS officer Mitun Kumar Dey who is currently posted as the Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP), holding the charge of Superintendent of Railway Police (SRP) Kharagpur. Molla reportedly claimed that he had kept his mouth shut despite witnessing illegal activities. Also he alleged that Dey had tortured several TMC workers and even attempted assault on Giasuddin as well when he protested. This apart, Giasuddin reportedly claimed that he had informed the former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek about it who did nothing. .
Giasuddin, a minister in Mamata Banerjee's cabinet and also the former MLA of TMC from Mograhat Paschim Assembly Constituency was not given the ticket in the 2026 Assembly Elections. Instead TMC had fielded Shamim Ahmed Molla who won the election by 58503 votes.
