Lucknow, Oct. 15 -- In a video message, Mittal said the problem was not a lack of politics but the failure to listen to people's concerns. She said public participation, need-based decision-making and accountability would form the foundation of her political approach.

Recalling her earlier announcement about entering politics, Mittal said she had shared a phone number to connect with people but received such a large volume of messages that WhatsApp blocked the number. She said she had not anticipated such a response and apologised for the inconvenience caused by her inability to make adequate arrangements to handle the messages.

Describing the response, Mittal said she felt as though she was standing with a small lamp in front of the sun when all she needed to do was open a window. Through the analogy, she sought to convey her experience of the public response to her political plans.

Three commitments at the core of Janneeti Bharat

Mittal outlined three key commitments that would guide the new party. First, public participation would be central to policymaking. Second, decisions would be based on people's needs rather than their identity. Third, the government would be accountable to the public for its actions, with accountability serving as the basis for corrective measures.

She said the party aimed to build a system in which the government worked in accordance with people's needs and expectations.

With the announcement, Mittal has formally outlined her political plans ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The party's performance and organisational reach will depend on how it translates its stated principles into a political programme and builds a presence across the state.
