
New Delhi, July 30 -- Exide Industries Ltd on Thursday reported a 27.1 per cent year-on-year increase in its profit after tax (PAT) for the first quarter of FY27, supported by strong growth in revenue and operating profit.
The company's PAT stood at Rs 407 crore in the April-June quarter of FY27, compared with Rs 320 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY26.
Earnings per share (EPS) rose 27.1 per cent to Rs 4.79 from Rs 3.77 a year ago.
Revenue for the quarter increased 17.6 per cent to Rs 5,305 crore from Rs 4,510 crore in the year-ago period.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 19.5 per cent to Rs 655 crore during the quarter, as against Rs 548 crore in Q1 FY26.
The company's EBITDA margin improved by 20 basis points to 12.4 per cent of revenue from 12.2 per cent in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Profit before tax (PBT) grew 26.4 per cent year-on-year to Rs 543 crore in the first quarter of FY27 from Rs 430 crore in the same period last year.
The company delivered broad-based growth across key financial parameters during the quarter, with higher revenue translating into improved operating performance and profitability.
