
Kolkata, April 19 -- Eastern Railway on Sunday announced unreserved EMU services in suburban sections and eleven pairs of summer special trains on long-distance routes to manage increased passenger demand during summer.
Four pairs of EMU services will run daily from April 20 to April 30 across the Sealdah and Howrah divisions. In the Sealdah section, a Sealdah-Namkhana train will leave at 06:15 am, followed by a Namkhana-Sonarpur service at 09:10 am. Services will also run between Sonarpur and Diamond Harbour at 11:17 am and between Diamond Harbour and Sealdah at 12:38 pm.
In the Howrah division, a Bandel-Katwa train will leave at 07:45 am, with the return service from Katwa at 01:45 pm. Another pair will run between Katwa and Barddhaman, departing Katwa at 10:15 am and Barddhaman at 12 pm.
On long-distance routes, two pairs of special trains will operate between Kanpur Central and Asansol, departing Kanpur Central on April 19 and April 21, with return services from Asansol on April 20 and April 22.
A Chhapra-Kolkata pair will run from Chhapra on April 20 and April 27, with return services from Kolkata on April 21 and April 28. Similarly, a Gomtinagar-Kolkata pair will depart Gomtinagar on April 22 and April 29, with return trains from Kolkata on April 23 and April 30.
A Raxaul-Howrah pair will leave Raxaul on April 22 and April 26, with return services from Howrah on April 23 and April 27. Multiple Vatva-Howrah pairs will operate on staggered dates, with trains departing Vatva between April 20 and April 27 and return services operating from Howrah between April 22 and April 29.
Additional services include a Madar Junction-Howrah pair and a Udaipur City-Asansol pair, each with corresponding return journeys.
A Gomoh-Durgapur pair will also operate on multiple days, with trains running in both directions between the two stations. Most trains will have general, sleeper and air-conditioned accommodation. Booking dates will be announced separately.
