India, Aug. 3 -- On the second day after assuming charge, Eastern Railway General Manager Gitika Pandey on Sunday inspected the Howrah-Dankuni-Burdwan section, stressing safety and faster execution of infrastructure projects across the zone. Pandey inspected tracks, signalling assets, overhead equipment and other railway infrastructure, and directed officials to maintain high standards of safety and preventive maintenance with no compromise on operational safety. She also reviewed redevelopment work under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at Dankuni and inspected passenger amenities at Burdwan station. Chairing a meeting with senior officials, she asked them to expedite ongoing station redevelopment projects and improve passenger facilities. Pandey later said Eastern Railway would continue to focus on passenger safety, women's safety, crowd management and station modernisation.
