New Delhi, June 9 -- A 22-year-old Delhi University student was arrested for allegedly possessing and supplying hydroponic ganja, commonly known as OG, worth around Rs 20 lakh in the international market, police said on Monday.
The accused, identified as Jaseem Siyadul Farsan MP, a student of Satyawati College, was allegedly supplying drugs to college students and other clients to earn quick money and fund a lavish lifestyle, investigators said.
Police said the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the North-West district received a tip-off about a drug peddler selling hydroponic ganja near Vijay Nagar. Acting on the information, a police team conducted a raid under the supervision of Inspector Somil Sharma and ACP Operations Ranjeet Dhaka.
During the operation, the accused was intercepted and searched, leading to the recovery of 195 grams of hydroponic ganja, police said.
Hydroponic ganja, also known as OG, is a premium variety of cannabis cultivated using advanced techniques and is sold at significantly higher prices in illegal markets.
A case under Section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered at Model Town police station.
During interrogation, Jaseem allegedly admitted to procuring and supplying hydroponic ganja to students of Satyawati College and other customers, police claimed.
