New Delhi, Nov. 5 -- Delhi Technological University (DTU) emerged overall champion in both men's and women's categories at the DDA-University Sports Cup 2026, held from October 28 to November 5. DTU scored 47 points in the men's category and 41 in the women's, finishing ahead of GGSIPU in both. Eight Delhi government universities competed across five sports, with 592 player entries.
Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu attended the closing ceremony, while Education Minister Ashish Sood announced plans to develop 341 government schools as sports nurseries and establish Centres of Excellence in four stadiums. The L-G also inaugurated DTU's Siddharth Research & Tribology Centre.
