India, July 13 -- Delhi Police have arrested a 42-year-old driver for allegedly staging a fake gunpoint robbery to misappropriate Rs 5 lakh entrusted to him by his employer. Police said the case was cracked within four hours, with the entire cash recovered from a cloth bag hidden beneath the bonnet of the accused's car. The driver, Gurnaam Singh alias Happy, had claimed that three armed men in a Thar SUV robbed him near Rohini. However, technical surveillance exposed inconsistencies in his account. During questioning, he confessed to fabricating the robbery due to financial difficulties. Further investigation is underway.
