New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- Delhi Police have arrested a domestic help and a vegetable vendor and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the burglary of gold and diamond jewellery and cash worth around Rs 3 crore from an apartment in north Delhi's Timarpur.
The burglary was reported on September 6 from an apartment on Mall Road after the complainant's elder brother and his family, who had gone abroad on September 2, returned to find the locks of the first-floor portion and almirahs broken.
Police identified the accused as Anil Kamat, 22, a domestic help, and his father-in-law Dev Chandra Sah, 49, a vegetable vendor. A 17-year-old house servant from Giridih, Jharkhand, was also apprehended.
Police said 117 jewellery items and Rs 4.34 lakh in cash were recovered, resulting in complete recovery of the stolen property.
Teams examined over 300 CCTV cameras and tracked the suspects to Darbhanga and Giridih.
Sah was arrested after cash was recovered under hay sacks and jewellery buried underground in Supaul. Kamat was arrested from Pratapganj.
Police said they planned to open a cafe in Nepal.
