New Delhi, May 11 -- A stray dog death case in west Delhi's Kirti Nagar has sparked controversy after a security guard was accused of fatally assaulting the animal with an iron rod, while an animal rights activist was separately accused of assaulting the guard outside the local police station.
Police said a complaint was lodged on May 8 by a Ramesh Nagar resident alleging that guard Vinod Paswan attacked the dog in Kirti Nagar's J Block on May 7, causing injuries that later proved fatal.
During enquiry, police also learnt that animal activist Jasmeet Kaur allegedly assaulted the guard outside Kirti Nagar Police Station.
No formal complaint has been filed in that matter so far. Further investigation is underway.
