New Delhi, Sept. 14 -- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has won the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar (First Prize) for the second consecutive year for its use and implementation of Hindi in official work.
The award was presented to DMRC managing director Vikas Kumar by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah during Hindi Diwas celebrations and the sixth All India Rajbhasha Conference at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai on Monday.
The recognition acknowledges DMRC's efforts towards promoting Hindi across its administrative and operational work, including technical activities, training and digital platforms.
Reacting to the award, Kumar said such recognition would encourage the organisation to further expand the use of Hindi in its functioning. "Such honours inspire the further development of Hindi as a more capable medium for administration, technical work, training, digital platforms, and public service," he said.
Kumar dedicated the award to DMRC officers and employees, crediting their "commitment and continuous efforts" towards promoting Hindi within the organisation.
DMRC won the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar for the second consecutive year for promoting Hindi in official work. Senior officials attended the ceremony. The award recognises organisations for effective implementation and progressive use of Hindi.
