India, June 29 -- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has won the UITP Achievement Award for Operational Excellence, an international recognition for its AI-powered integrated travel platform that enables commuters to plan, book and pay for complete door-to-door journeys through a single application. The award was presented at the UITP Awards Ceremony held in Brussels on June 23, recognising DMRC's efforts to improve sustainable urban mobility through technology-driven public transport solutions. According to DMRC, the award honours its smart door-to-door travel service available on the DMRC Sarthi App, which integrates first- and last-mile connectivity with metro services. The platform allows commuters to plan an entire trip, from their home to the destination, by combining feeder transport and metro services while making a single integrated payment for the journey. The Operational Excellence Award, conferred by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), recognises public transport organisations that demonstrate outstanding performance, innovation and operational impact in delivering day-to-day services. The award was received on behalf of DMRC by Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, Director (Operations & Services), and Rajnish Rana, Additional General Manager (Operations), during the ceremony in Brussels. DMRC said the recognition highlights its continued focus on leveraging digital technology to enhance passenger convenience and encourage greater use of sustainable public transport in the national capital.
