New Delhi, Oct. 29 -- Six-time National Award-winning Indian filmmaker Gul Bahar Singh is all set to return to the director's chair with his upcoming feature film 'Parasmani', a compelling musical drama exploring friendship, freedom, rebellion, love and the complexities of relationships in contemporary society, along with women's emancipation and upliftment.

The Bengali film features an ensemble cast comprising Kaushik Sen, Kharaj Mukherjee, Shritama Mitra, Rahul Ganguly, Ankita Brahma, Aishiki Ghatak, Aditi Bishnu and Ipsita Nag. The film's music will be composed by Surojit Chatterjee, Hirju Roy and Chandan Roy Choudhury.

At the heart of 'Parasmani' are five educated young women from middle-class backgrounds, who have experienced the harsh realities of a patriarchal society. Having faced emotional betrayal, exploitation and injustice, they find strength in their shared passion for music and decide to form an all-girl musical band named 'Parasmani'.

The film is scheduled to go on floors towards the end of October 2026, with its release planned for early 2027.
