Kolkata, Oct. 6 -- DGP S N Gupta, whose tenure was earlier extended till October 31, 2026, has been granted another six-month extension by the Centre.
The Centre cleared Gupta's extension on Tuesday, extending his tenure by another six months beyond October 31. Gupta was originally due to superannuate on April 30, 2026. He was earlier granted an extension till October 31, 2026. With the latest six-month extension, his tenure will now effectively be extended by a full year from his original date of superannuation, taking it up to April 30, 2027.
