New Delhi, July 9 -- India's Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (DFCCIL) has embarked on the next phase of its plan to build up its freight infrastructure network with the participation of important industry participants, financiers, and international investors for the new project of the East-West Dedicated Freight Corridor (EWDFC).

This project is a giant railway project that is projected to revolutionise freight operations in the country. This was done through a high-level stakeholders meeting conducted in New Delhi.

The meeting was headed by Praveen Kumar, the Managing Director of DFCCIL, along with Shyam Sundar Gupta, the Railway Board Principal Executive Director for Infrastructure; B. Mugunthan, DFCCIL Director Finance; and Rahul Kapoor, Railway Board Executive Director for Finance/RM & PPP. In addition, several senior officials from DFCCIL were present, including those overseeing infrastructure, operations, and business development.

According to the officials, discussions revolved around the finance arrangement, construction approach, implementation framework, and involvement process of stakeholders. The officials stated that the interactive process provided an opportunity for the participants to give their views, ask questions, and identify areas of cooperation during the timely development of the corridor.

Representatives from prominent infrastructure and engineering companies such as Larsen & Toubro, Afcons Infrastructure, Tata Projects, IRCON International, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd., RITES, G R Infraprojects, Ashoka Buildcon, Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd., Hindustan Construction Company, Kalpataru Projects International, KEC International, GPT Infraprojects, DRA Infracon, and GMR Group were also present in the meeting.

Also, representatives from the logistics and freight sector, including Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), Adani Road Transport and DP World, also participated.
