India, July 3 -- Delhi Police have apprehended a 36-year-old man from Ghaziabad in connection with a series of hoax bomb threat emails sent to several high-security organisations, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), the Ministry of Civil Aviation and an Air India flight from New Delhi to New York. The emails, sent on June 29, triggered security checks and alerts across multiple agencies. All threats were later found to be hoaxes. A technical investigation traced the emails to Nishant Tyagi of Sanyog Nagar, Ghaziabad, through mobile numbers linked to the email accounts. Police said Tyagi has been undergoing treatment for mental illness since 2008. No explosives or suspicious material were recovered during the inquiry. The investigation is underway to establish the motive behind the emails and determine further legal action.
