New Delhi, Oct. 16 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is conducting a month-long campaign in land pooling areas to explain its development policy, which covers nearly 200 sq km and has the potential to create around 12 lakh homes and more than 600 km of additional roads.

The campaign, launched following directions from Lieutenant-Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, aims to encourage landowners to participate in planned development under Master Plan Delhi (MPD) 2047. The outreach drive, being conducted through on-site camps under Reform Utsav, allows landowners, farmers and other stakeholders to understand the proposed development models, raise concerns and seek clarifications from DDA officials.

The DDA has held programmes in Bakkarwala, Tigipur and Sultanpur Dabas, covering Zones K-1, P-II and N, respectively. Landowners and other participants expressed willingness to participate in the development of their land parcels.

Officials also informed them that the road network plan, along with details of land parcels, would be notified shortly.

Further camps are scheduled in Chhawla and Saranpur in Zone L, Neb Sarai in Zone J, Khera Kalan in Zone P-I and Mukhmelpur in Zone P-II.

The policy allows landowners to pool land with the DDA for planned neighbourhoods with roads, utilities and public amenities. It provides for phased infrastructure development through 20-hectare schemes, with Sector 8B, Gadi Khasro and Ibrahimpur notified first.
