New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on September 25 held an Investors Meet with developers to discuss its In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Programme and seek their views on a practical framework for implementing rehabilitation projects across Delhi.

The meeting provided a platform for developers and other stakeholders to discuss project structures, implementation mechanisms, risk allocation, financing and approval processes. The feedback will help the DDA refine the proposed framework as the programme moves towards procurement and implementation.

The Master Plan for Delhi 2047 (MPD-2047) envisages the in-situ rehabilitation of around 17 lakh residents of JJ clusters. The programme aims to improve housing and living conditions for eligible residents at their existing locations, while promoting integrated neighbourhood development, better urban infrastructure and more efficient land use.

The DDA said in-situ rehabilitation was an important component of the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, which seeks to create opportunities for all. The proposed framework aims to unlock redevelopment potential while promoting inclusive and sustainable urban growth.

Addressing the gathering, the DDA Vice-Chairman stressed the role of the private sector in meeting the scale of rehabilitation and redevelopment required in Delhi. The initiative seeks to create sustainable neighbourhoods while providing safe and dignified housing, improved infrastructure and more efficient land utilisation. The DDA said successful implementation would require close coordination among public institutions, private developers and communities, with residents' needs remaining central to the planning and execution of projects. The meeting was organised in line with the directions of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

The authority will continue engaging with the development community as the project framework evolves.
