New Delhi, Oct. 14 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Tuesday held two stakeholder consultations under the Master Plan for Delhi (MPD) 2047, focusing on education and healthcare infrastructure.
Discussions covered clarification of Floor Area Ratio (FAR) calculations, increased ground coverage for schools, possible relaxation of Right of Way requirements for existing nursery schools and nursing homes, and a review of parking norms for private schools. Stakeholders also suggested identifying land in Narela for digital examination centres and additional medical colleges, besides reviewing disaster preparedness, basement-use provisions and planning norms in line with National Medical Commission requirements.
The ninth consultation focused on the Education Hub, while the tenth dealt with the Medical Hub, under the guidance of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
MPD 2047 envisages a 138-hectare Education Hub in Narela, supporting universities, research institutions, vocational training and start-ups. Its healthcare framework proposes an integrated network of hospitals, medical colleges, speciality facilities and wellness centres, alongside rehabilitation and recovery facilities.
The consultations form part of DDA's three-month outreach programme, which includes around 20 sessions to gather stakeholder inputs for participatory implementation of the master plan.
