New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Tuesday began its stakeholder consultation exercise for participatory implementation of the Master Plan for Delhi 2047 (MPD 2047), with the first meeting attended by three Members of Parliament and 33 Members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
Held on September 1 on the directions of Lieutenant Governor Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, it was attended by MPs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Manoj Tiwari and Praveen Khandelwal, along with 33 Delhi MLAs. DDA Vice Chairman N Saravana Kumar briefed the elected representatives on provisions of MPD 2047, including Transit Oriented Development (TOD), High Density Corridors (HDC), Land Pooling, LDA and unauthorised colonies.
The public representatives welcomed the notification of MPD 2047 and sought 15 days to submit their observations in writing. The consultation marks the beginning of a stakeholder exercise, with around 20 meetings planned over the next three months. These will involve government agencies and service providers, industry bodies, architects and planners, resident and group housing representatives, farmers and landowners, market and trade associations, conservation bodies, transport agencies, and education and healthcare representatives.
Thematic discussions will cover land pooling, group housing redevelopment, low-density areas, the Yamuna and blue-green zones, heritage conservation, mixed-use and commercial areas, in-situ slum redevelopment, decongestion, and the development of education and medical hubs.
