India, July 15 -- The Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted an interstate syndicate allegedly involved in the theft, storage, sale and illegal export of stolen Remote Radio Units (RRUs), arresting four accused and recovering 43 stolen telecom units. The accused have been identified as Hemant Gupta (31) of Harsh Vihar, Vikas Paswan (30) of Sangam Vihar, Fareed (28) of Ghaziabad and Sher Mohd. (27) of Meerut. Police said the gang exported the stolen RRUs to Hong Kong through airline cargo using forged invoices and falsely declaring the consignments as "Power Supply Point" equipment. The arrests have helped solve 19 cases of RRU theft registered across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Investigators suspect the syndicate has links to several more cases in Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
