India, April 18 -- The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has busted an organised MDMA (ecstasy) supply network operating in south Delhi, arresting two men and recovering a commercial quantity of narcotics. Acting on a tip-off, a raiding team carried out a late-night operation between April 12 and 13 in the Hargovind Enclave area of Chhatarpur. A Wagon-R taxi was intercepted, and one of the accused, Deepak Kumar (37), a resident of Govindpuri in Kalkaji, was apprehended. Police recovered 25 ecstasy pills and 14.95 grams of MDMA in crystal form from his possession, indicating the presence of an organised drug distribution network. Based on this input, police tracked and arrested the alleged supplier, Farhan alias Sunny (33), from the Saket area before he could flee. A search of his rented accommodation led to the recovery of an additional 4.2 grams of MDMA. Investigators said the accused operated a highly clandestine, delivery-based network, frequently changing mobile phones, SIM cards and locations to evade detection. The supplier allegedly used his Wagon-R as a cab during the day to avoid suspicion and deployed drivers for doorstep deliveries at night, concealing the drugs in food packaging. Police said the supplier had links within party circuits and is suspected to have sourced MDMA from an African national, who has been identified and is being traced. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, with further investigation underway.
