New Delhi, Oct. 31 -- Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is set to reopen the Chotta Angaria, Keshpur, Nandigram and Garbeta murder files where mass killings took place by the CPI(M) goons during the Left regime. Adhikari, speaking at Garbeta on Saturday, said that the BJP Jhargram candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Pranat Tudu, was attacked and had a head injury, so those who are yet to be booked in the case must be jailed.

Adhikari asked all those whose dear ones were killed in political violence since 1998 to approach the DM office for compensation. The CM said soon Garbeta and Gopiballavpur will be subdivisions for better governance.

During the BJP's 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' campaign at Garbeta in West Midnapore on Saturday, seeking to turn the political narrative around alleged democratic erosion and political violence during the previous Trinamool Congress & Left Front regime, Adhikari announced to reopen old cases of skeleton. He wanted the SP to arrest Sukur Ali and Tapan Ghosh of CPI(M) and wanted all in the Keshpur murder cases to be arrested.

Adhikari vowed to reopen the Chhoto Angaria and Nandigram cases, and launched a sharp political attack on the Trinamool Congress and CPIM, accusing the two parties of attempting to join hands to create disorder in West Bengal. Adhikari warned that those allegedly involved in political violence would be brought to book and announced plans to reopen cases relating to Chhoto Angaria and Nandigram.

Referring to past political violence in West Midnapore, Adhikari alleged that those responsible for atrocities in Kharkushma were now changing political colours and wearing red. Recalling an attack on him while returning from Purulia via Chandrakona, while he was an Opposition leader, he said he had spent an entire night at a police station following the incident.

Adhikari said he would unveil a compensation package for potato farmers in the southern districts who allegedly suffered losses during the last crop season.

He also said that every PM-Kisan beneficiary in the state would receive Rs 3,000 on November 5 under the state government's farmer benefit scheme. "We will give compensation to potato farmers who have suffered atrocities at the hands of the previous Mamata Banerjee government," he said.

The CM said soon Jana Kalyan camps will be held to find beneficiaries for providing various social benefits, as the earlier list was prepared by I-PAC and it was full of political bias. He said 84 lakh beneficiaries are getting Rs 1500 per month, and he promised to increase it in the next state Budget.
